About This Location

In 1736 Benjamin Franklin helped form the Union Fire Company–also known as Franklin’s Bucket Brigade–one of the first organized Fire Departments in America. This museum commemorates the history of firefighting. Don’t miss the sculpture of Benjamin Franklin wearing a fireman’s hat a few blocks away!
