About This Location

Within the Franklin Court sites, exhibits display two 18th century presses, a typesetter and a bindery. The office was originally used by Benjamin Franklin’s grandson Benjamin Franklin “Lightning Rod Jr.” Bache where he ran the Aurora and General Advertiser, a partisan pro-Jeffersonian newspaper critical of President George Washington’s administration and policies.
