About This Location

Founded in 1795 with ten worshipers from Germany, Holland, and Poland, Rodeph Shalom is the first Ashkenazic congregation in America. It has hosted Jewish immigrants from central and eastern Europe over the years and is notable for leading Reform Judaism in America. Designed by Philadelphia architects Simon & Simon, the 1928 architectural gem is in a beautiful Middle Eastern and Art Deco style. Its magnificent interior is Byzantine.
